Glengala Pocket Park Artwork

Young people from the local community - from Sunshine Heights Primary School, Sunshine College and Marian College - have decorated clay tiles for this park, which appear on pavers and a sculpted lizard.

Each of the round tiles has its own story - exploring ideas about the importance of being part of a community of people, the place in which we live and the role that parks play in our lives.

The tiles were decorated in workshops with local artist Debbie Qadri, who included many of them on a lizard sculpture for the park.

Mosaic work on the pavers was created by parents and teachers of Sunshine Heights Primary school in workshops, in workshops with the artist.

Special thanks to: Aasta Dearnley, Brigid Wheelan, Mirjana Vuc-Nikic, Francine Sculli, for assisting to organise workshops; and parents and staff who assisted in Mosaicking the pavers - Huong, Jacci, Sukie, Jessica, Jasmine, Aasta, Winpreet and Irene.
